This 9th century monument is dedicated to SreePadmanabha and considered the moolasthanam of Lord SreePadmanabha. Madhur temple, originally known as Madhanentheswara (Shiva) Temple, has a folklore attached to it. According to the tale, an old "low caste" lady "Madaru" discovered an "Udbhava Murthy" (a statue that was not made by a human) of Shivalinga. The Ganapathy statue was drawn by a priest's son, a small Brahmin boy, on the walls of the Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) while playing. Day by day it became big and fat; so that the boy called Ganapathi as "boddajja" or "boddaganesha."

Malik Dinar Mosque is a historical mosque in Kasargod district of Kerala state, south India. Over the years, Kasargod acquired the considerable importance as a centre of Islam on the west coast. It is the site of one of the mosques believed to be founded by Malik Deenar. The mosque, Juma Masjid, which is one of the best kept and most attractive in the district, is located at Thalangara. It contains the grave of Malik Deenar, one of the Sahaba of Prophet Muhammad and the place is sacred to Muslims. Another notable mosque, in Kasaragod is the Theruvath Mosque which is in the center of the town.

The Bekal Fort was constructed around AD 1645. It was completed speedily during the period of Sivappa Nayak to defend the port from overseas attack. On a vast 35 acre headland that runs into the Arabian Sea stands the Bekal Fort, above sea level. More than 300 years old, the Fort has a chequered history, making it an interesting excavation site. Owing to its historic importance, the Fort is now under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India. The Bekal Fort is the largest and best preserved of its kind in Kerala.
